MY SAFE SPACE ✨

Never have I ever thought about venturing into other towns or cities. Never have I ever thought of staying in another place cause I used to be on my own, As I thought I was growing but it's kinda stagnant as the water in the lake calms as it is. However, things don't just revolve around there, there is something that we need to go out of our comfort zone for us to know more about ourselves. Never have I ever thought about falling in love with the place where I call it home, my city, and my safe space- Iloilo City...

This place has influenced me a lot in terms of being independent, being away from my family has taught me to be my whole self, taught me a lot in terms of accepting rejections, and of course, budgeting my allowance just to reach the threshold of the month- the groceries, school expenses, and the social life. It is, however, hard for me to adjust at first because I came from a barrio, and life in the city is way different. I adjust in everything that I do. Yes, I did. In terms of language? People thought I'm the local but then when I tell them that I came from Aklan they will react hysterically, simply because I get to adapt to the culture and observe the way how people interacted with each other.

Iloilo city, on the other hand, is an ideal place to live in. Why? Simply because of its neutrality. Not so crowded city, everything is organized you will not be lost in the middle of the night because you know where to go to. When you want to go party, you can have the Smallville. When you want to go walk and do your exercises, you can have the esplanade. When you want to have a Spanish or Japanese vibe eating outside your dormitories or respective homes, you can have the Festive Walk food stalls. When you want to go shopping, SM city is just easy to be found like its perfect location. And many more, the Iloilo city has a lot to offer anything that you need from a city. And, the fact that it is not polluted even unlike the others.

I sometimes said to myself that someday, I will be living here in this city. Build my brand and family, and settle once I became successful in my chosen path or career in life. This has been my safe space from the day that I have one big step here. If I hadn't taken the courage to venture into Iloilo, I will never grow on my own, probably as stagnant as water in the lake. No future, no direction, as is. However, If ever I will choose a city, it's always gonna be Iloilo, because Iloilo has known me, has turned me, but, also loved me for the way I am as a person...////
